Pink Colour Trend AW13

The new season is awash with a sea of pink. The colour was pretty prominent in the London shows back in February with the likes of Mulberry, Moschino Cheap&Chic and Simone Rocha catching my eye with a scrummy mixture of powdery and sour shades. All of which  compelled me to confront my fears and embrace pink, subsequently starting a hot affair that I just can't get enough of.
Pink is a daunting choice at first, but by taking inspiration from the androgynous trends lurking around it doesn't seem oh so scary after all. For example, bright pink pieces fit right in with the 90s grunge attack whilst dusky tones put a feminine spin on the Mod street mood. Of course, the colour focus still hails pure femininity with sweet sherbet and candies nodding to the suburban 50s.

Topshop Unique AW13
If you do want to try out a bit of pink as the new AW13 season approaches head to wonderful Toppers for some great picks. After clearly taking inspiration from their high fashion sister Topshop Unique,  I feel the British highstreet saviours have served up a beautiful array of choice.
Clockwise from top right; crop cami £15 knitted crotchet top £28 round sunnies £16 fluffy tee £24 earrings £8.50 slip dress £38 block shell top £30 pleated skirt £35 satchel £28 ruffle shell top £34
The fluffy tee has to be my ultimate buy of the season though, as not only does it look insanely comfortable but it also ticks off the texture craze flooding the fashion world at the moment. Gorgeous.
Which of the ten picks is your favourite? Are you a converted pink lady?

Best Summer Shorts Ever!

So yesterday was spent in sunny London with some friends catching the rays in Hyde Park then going to see Russell Howard record Good News (tiny celebrity crush hello). It was such a glorious day and a great opportunity to wear this perfect height of Summer outfit.
The shorts are from Forever21, the more I wear them the more I fall in love with them. They are quite literally the best summer shorts I've ever owned; easy-to-wear, beautiful print and just soo happy! Does that make sense? Do you have pieces in your wardrobe that scream happy too...or am I just crazy?

Forever 21 do an amazing choice of shorts, and even if you can't find these you're bound to fall head over heels for the others they have in store. These beauties were around £14 and I bought them mid-April so you may still be able to snap them up.
I couldn't resist showing off a naughty purchase from New Look too. Despite these cut-out boots being ONLY £25 I really shouldn't have bought them with my lack of money at the moment, but I honestly couldn't help it. They are just so pretty and current. A post devoted just to the boots may have to happen, as I'm crazy about them.

Toppers Birthday

So last weekend I celebrated my momentous 21st, and it was was blooming brilliant. I spent it with everybody that I love and adore, whilst being completely spoilt rotten...I was indeed a very happy, very lucky lady. I thought I'd show you my day outfit as things got a little chaotic and I didn't have time to snap any other outfits, apologies!

This Topshop dress is gorgeous, and after trying on about 10 different outfits in the flagship store this was my top pick. Not only was it such a reasonable price of £32, but it's so damn comfy. I feel that I could throw this on during the Summer and be set to go, not much else is needed. Plus it's ticking the big monochrome trend, whilst having a slight resemblance to Prada flowers. It also will be seasonally versatile, looking just as cute with some thick tights and boots layered up in the winter. I predict this dress to be a big seller for Topshop this season, as I've already seen some bloggers snapping it up...and bloggers know best right!?

I will blog a rather large catch-up which will include snippets of my birthday later in the week, so keep chooooned.

Hey Joni.

Finally, after attempting to get an outfit post up for the past few days I managed to spare time before university today without nosey people, awful weather or atrocious lighting getting in the way. Mind you this isn't perfect, and the wind was pretty determined to blow me away at a point. I think every blogger out there, including myself, is longing for summer days now, simply for the outfit snaps...some heat wouldn't go a miss either would it? Nevertheless we shouldn't be wishing our days away as my Nana would say, alas we must brave the last of winter, and just pretend for now. Enter trusty Ray Bans.

There's a few new naughty purchases amongst this black outfit, including the spikey, silver necklace which adds an edge to any top and the new Topshop jeans, Joni- super high waisted and tight. I chose the dark shade as they could be very versatile, worn in the day like above or for a night out with a pair of hot heels; this reasoning lead me to believe it was okay to spend money I shouldn't have. Totally worth it. Have you girls tried the new style? What do you think? For me Topper's jeans come up trumps amongst other highstreet brands, the range and fit is like no other and the price is pretty reasonable for a long lasting pair.

I'm off to attempt a work out in hope of a perfect summer body, a girl can dream right? Hope you are all well and THANK YOU so much to all my lovely new followers.

Pleated Play.

As promised a new outfit post for you guys, featuring some of my favourite new buys this week including a gorgeous pleated midi thrifty find and a oversized grey tee from Toppers. The basic collection in Topshop at the moment is amazeballs, there is so much choice of staple wardrobe pieces such as midi body con skirts to sweaters; all of which I adore as the styling options are endless. These plain t-shirts are definitely hitting the spot for me at the moment, need to add more to my wardrobe asap plus some glorious jewellery .On that note, can anybody send me in the right direction of some eye-catching statement necklaces, I've been searching for what seems like forever for THE perfect one and alas, I'm still yet to.

I'm also loving bright nail varnish again at the moment, think I'm lusting after Summer sun a little too much haha. I couldn't decide between the two colours so painted each hand different...odd I know, but it did add a pop to this grey outfit. Note the cute western ankle boots, Jack got these for me as a surprise for Christmas and was so proud of himself for picking something so out of the blue that I fell in love with straight away haha, boy did well don't you think?

Hope you're all dandy and fending off the horrid bugs going round at the moment, I'm trying my best with copious amounts of green tea. Take care.

Royal Mess.

Evening girlies! The evenings are drawing in dead quick, and my my isn't it getting chilly, all the reason to drink more tea accompanied with a barrel of biscuits right? Brr. Now most of the time I'm a morning person (despite what the boyfriend may say), and once I'm up, I'm up...but this cold makes it so hard to get out of bed, especially when your student lifestyle means heating is an absolute luxury and you've been using candles to warm your room haha. What makes it worse is that this is just the beginning, this cold is only a scratch on the surface; it's going to get colder, and as it does I'm going to roll into university looking more and more dishevelled.

Another wear out of this Kate Middleton-esque dress, it's such an ideal dress to just throw on and build a look around; the leather jacket toughens it up whilst the red scarf print and lips a bit of oomph. Know what I mean?

Duchess Blue.

Recently the parents and I ventured up to the town where I will be studying in September to have a wander round and to get their approval on the house I'd picked. The day was a success as not only were my mum and dad impressed that I managed to find great accommodation all by myself haha, but we also found some bargains in the local shops. That night I was meeting friends for some drinks so wanted to wear something versatile that could take me from day to night without too much fuss. Kate Middleton inspired this outfit pick, as I had previously seen her supporting Team GB on various occasions, and of course each time she looked immaculately polished. She most definitely knows how to dress to impress, and quite a lot of the time this seems to be in blue. So there I was rummaging through my clothes trying to find my old Topshop dress that I've had for years.

Have you ever taken inspiration from Kate Middleton? It was quite refreshing to keep it simple with just a few elegant accessories, and the nude nails. Although, after this week I can't wait to paint my nails in glorious colours after having to keep them clean for work.
Apologies for the lack of posts, bad blogger + stupid blogger, I couldn't work out  why blogger wasn't allowing me to upload, and after whinging for a few days I finally work it out in just a few seconds! How annoying; hence the belated post. Have a lovely weekend girls!

Casual Barbie.

Hey y'all, yesterday I decided to shake the dust off these pink babies and wear them once more. When I first purchased the Kristen jeans from Topshop I didn't stop wearing them, as they were comfortable yet still making a statement; however they slowly lost their novelty and were hung up with all my other forgotten trousers. Until Thursday whilst I was with the lovely Faye from Faye's Fix, so thanks for the reminder lovely! I've actually realised my wardrobe consists of quite a few pink bottoms, my inner barbie is impressed whereas I'm slightly confused.

Yeah, I'm wearing hoop earrings, taking myself back to childhood here. Not sure how I feel about them though, I'm just taking a little dip to see what they can be styled with. I've rediscovered all this jewellery whilst moving, which is great as they feel like new accessories all over again.
On the subject of moving, I'm currently now living half and half, which is rather annoying as it means my wardrobe has had to be more than halved for the next three weeks, so getting dressed will not be as fun. Anybody else off to uni and having to make this sacrifice haha?
Hope all you lovely girls are well!
