Pink Colour Trend AW13

The new season is awash with a sea of pink. The colour was pretty prominent in the London shows back in February with the likes of Mulberry, Moschino Cheap&Chic and Simone Rocha catching my eye with a scrummy mixture of powdery and sour shades. All of which  compelled me to confront my fears and embrace pink, subsequently starting a hot affair that I just can't get enough of.
Pink is a daunting choice at first, but by taking inspiration from the androgynous trends lurking around it doesn't seem oh so scary after all. For example, bright pink pieces fit right in with the 90s grunge attack whilst dusky tones put a feminine spin on the Mod street mood. Of course, the colour focus still hails pure femininity with sweet sherbet and candies nodding to the suburban 50s.

Topshop Unique AW13
If you do want to try out a bit of pink as the new AW13 season approaches head to wonderful Toppers for some great picks. After clearly taking inspiration from their high fashion sister Topshop Unique,  I feel the British highstreet saviours have served up a beautiful array of choice.
Clockwise from top right; crop cami £15 knitted crotchet top £28 round sunnies £16 fluffy tee £24 earrings £8.50 slip dress £38 block shell top £30 pleated skirt £35 satchel £28 ruffle shell top £34
The fluffy tee has to be my ultimate buy of the season though, as not only does it look insanely comfortable but it also ticks off the texture craze flooding the fashion world at the moment. Gorgeous.
Which of the ten picks is your favourite? Are you a converted pink lady?

Polka Dots Never Fade

So the polka dot t-shirt is coming in very useful as it goes with practically any bottoms, the main culprits being the trusty Jonis from Topshop. However, with it being such a beautiful day on Friday I couldn't resist getting these hot pink, relaxed shorts out from River Island; finally starting to brave the world bare-legged again eek. The transition is always hard, never knowing when the perfect (and socially acceptable) time is to kick off the full blown Summer wardrobe, but with all this sunshine I took a risk.

I bought the shorts in a charity shop last Summer and thought they may be a bit of a one hit wonder bargain, but with the sports luxe trend still sizzling on, and comfort being a key this season I'm happy to whip them back out. My chuffness continues regarding my recent haul, with this Forever21 tee proving to be great addition to my staples. Not only does it coincide with the Pop Art trend buzzing around thanks to Lichtenstein and co., but in my opinion polka dots never fall from fashion; there's always a hint of the quirky print in each seasons collections. So here's hoping this is something I can also pull out time and time again.

Hope you're enjoying the long May weekend, I'm trying to take advantage of these blue skies as much as possible.
love

Holding onto Summer.

So back to reality, no more holiday snaps for now. Instead, an outfit I donned to uni on my first day, even though the weather hasn't been cheery I need to get the most of my tan whilst I can, so the legs have been on show a little more than they probably should in the Autumn. And the pastel, pleated skirt is definitely one of my favourite finds of this Summer, it has definitely secured my new thoughts on pink clothing, something I wasn't too keen on a year ago.

Writing this post has made me crave some thrifting, perhaps I'll put it on the agenda for the next week. Definitely want to find some bargains like this gorgeous shirt, perfect for winter with it's dark floral print, and as a teeny cover up on a night out.
Have a great weekend lovelies!

Casual Barbie.

Hey y'all, yesterday I decided to shake the dust off these pink babies and wear them once more. When I first purchased the Kristen jeans from Topshop I didn't stop wearing them, as they were comfortable yet still making a statement; however they slowly lost their novelty and were hung up with all my other forgotten trousers. Until Thursday whilst I was with the lovely Faye from Faye's Fix, so thanks for the reminder lovely! I've actually realised my wardrobe consists of quite a few pink bottoms, my inner barbie is impressed whereas I'm slightly confused.

Yeah, I'm wearing hoop earrings, taking myself back to childhood here. Not sure how I feel about them though, I'm just taking a little dip to see what they can be styled with. I've rediscovered all this jewellery whilst moving, which is great as they feel like new accessories all over again.
On the subject of moving, I'm currently now living half and half, which is rather annoying as it means my wardrobe has had to be more than halved for the next three weeks, so getting dressed will not be as fun. Anybody else off to uni and having to make this sacrifice haha?
Hope all you lovely girls are well!

Sports Luxe and Pop Tarts.

Introducing some new buys I probably shouldn't have bought but could not resist, same old same old to us bloggers though right? And these gorgeous new buys make this fresh outfit. Inspired by the games, there's a little hint of sports luxe; simple cuts that are extremely comfortable, as well as a few studs for this season's edge. There's something about this get-up that makes me feel healthy and glowing, I may be rambling but surely someone understands what I mean about wearing crisp, bright pieces. Clothes do effect your mood, correct?

These beautiful shorts were eyeing me up as soon as I walked into the charity shop, fully enticing me as I headed out so I couldn't not for £2.50. I may not get too much wear out of them before summer's out, but for that price I'm not too fussed. Whereas the Zara jumper is my new transeasonal best friend, with such a soft material. As for the nails, my boyfriend pointed out that they look like pop tarts, with multi coloured sprinkles on top, and for this reason I've donned them a fair few times now.
Eurgh, I really must stop spending money though, it's so very hard boo.

Ich Liebe Erdnussbutter.

Hallo! Last night I returned home from five lovely days visiting my friend Eva in Cologne, Germany. We try to see each other at least twice a year, taking it in turns to fly over to one another, and this was perhaps my fourth visit and I love it more each time. After having a few stressful months at work I really felt like a break, and catching up with one of my favourite girls was definitely the right medicine. We managed to cram in so much, a weekend of shopping, relaxing, partying and exploring was just perfect!
So whilst I've been missing from the blogosphere I managed to take some outfit photos, although I wasn't incredibly good at remembering, and despite taking a huge suitcase full of just clothes I still felt like I was lacking choice...girl problems hey.

I'll catch you up with more of my german escapades next time, for now I'm going to sit and read this 50 shades...see what all the hype about and indulge in too much milka chocolate! It's so damn good, and so cheap in Germany so I stocked up haha, all different flavours, yum.

Ex-Prom Dress.

You know the 'make-me-feel-better' outfit I wore on my sick day? This is it. An old prom treasure, at the time this seemed like the perfect dress, the only one I just had to have, and although I'm not sure that those feelings still remain, it's still a wonderful pick-me-up girly piece. It was my first ever decent Republic find, and I must say it changed my opinion of the highstreet brand, and nowadays there is always some pretty little thingmy eyes wander to in  store.

The dress was only £25, although my 17 year old self thought that was pricey...I blame my bargain hunting mum haha. But isn't it just such a cute dress? The shape, the print, the heart-shape back.
Stay dandy <3

Ciao Bella.

Hello lovelies. Hope you are all well and beaming from the spot of sunshine we have had! Today I felt like I was on holiday in Italy, perhaps because I was going for the laid back, touristy look; baggy tops, tanned boat shoes and straw bags. Italians seem to pull of the 'looking cool and just hanging' look, much like the country seems to me really, sleepy and lazy, yet still ridiculously fascinating! I must, must, must go to Rome this year, it's been written on my chalkboard for almost two years now.

I've been catching up with my mum lots recently, and had a nice, slow stroll around town today on which I encountered a man casually walking round with a  huge snake wrapped round his neck, he said I looked scared...too right! Also stopped off at Costa for a drink, and they do this scrumdid strawberry iced lemonade, my gosh it was good (and refreshing!). They actually have a really good choice of iced drinks in there, I never think to go but I felt spoilt for choice. Next on my list is their Peach frappe.

Hope you sweets are all wonderful! <3
