Best Summer Shorts Ever!

So yesterday was spent in sunny London with some friends catching the rays in Hyde Park then going to see Russell Howard record Good News (tiny celebrity crush hello). It was such a glorious day and a great opportunity to wear this perfect height of Summer outfit.
The shorts are from Forever21, the more I wear them the more I fall in love with them. They are quite literally the best summer shorts I've ever owned; easy-to-wear, beautiful print and just soo happy! Does that make sense? Do you have pieces in your wardrobe that scream happy too...or am I just crazy?

Forever 21 do an amazing choice of shorts, and even if you can't find these you're bound to fall head over heels for the others they have in store. These beauties were around £14 and I bought them mid-April so you may still be able to snap them up.
I couldn't resist showing off a naughty purchase from New Look too. Despite these cut-out boots being ONLY £25 I really shouldn't have bought them with my lack of money at the moment, but I honestly couldn't help it. They are just so pretty and current. A post devoted just to the boots may have to happen, as I'm crazy about them.

This Term's Newbies

So only two weeks into this term of university and there is a substantial dent in my bank balance, these little beauties helped me make it.
Clockwise from the top tanned handbag Mango floral shorts Forever21 floral top Topshop via charity shop digital print tshirt Forever21 polka dot tshirt Forever21 printed skirt New Look via charity shop
I'm so happy with these new additions to my wardrobe as it desperately needed freshening up, just in time for some sunshine. Amongst this mini haul there are definitely some favourites emerging.

At number one is the tanned leather bag from Mango; it was a bargain in their mid-season sale at only £22.99. When it comes to picking a bag I always tend to go for neutral shades (the yellow CĂ©line luggage bag being a dreamy exception) as then it will carry me through season to season effortlessly, and this Mango find feels as if it will do just that. Sturdy, spacious and sophisticated it will be hard to pry this away from my arm for a while.

Close behind is the very simple polka dot find from Forever21. As we all know the t-shirt trend is as strong as ever with every high street store selling their own plain versions for what some could consider a wee bit too much. However, for only £7.25 I couldn't walk away from this cute, quirky tee that could possibly become a Summer staple. It just brings a little bit of happiness to plain old jeans or denim cut-offs, don't you think?

Yet to be worn but still tugging at my heart are the little shorts also from Forever21, they are just too pretty. The print is a little Erdem-esque, blurry floral colours screaming Spring/Summer whilst the monochrome waistband keeps structure so it's not too much. In my head I'm partying into the sunset with these babies on, and I can not wait ha.

Which our your favourite picks of my mini haul?

Hey Joni.

Finally, after attempting to get an outfit post up for the past few days I managed to spare time before university today without nosey people, awful weather or atrocious lighting getting in the way. Mind you this isn't perfect, and the wind was pretty determined to blow me away at a point. I think every blogger out there, including myself, is longing for summer days now, simply for the outfit snaps...some heat wouldn't go a miss either would it? Nevertheless we shouldn't be wishing our days away as my Nana would say, alas we must brave the last of winter, and just pretend for now. Enter trusty Ray Bans.

There's a few new naughty purchases amongst this black outfit, including the spikey, silver necklace which adds an edge to any top and the new Topshop jeans, Joni- super high waisted and tight. I chose the dark shade as they could be very versatile, worn in the day like above or for a night out with a pair of hot heels; this reasoning lead me to believe it was okay to spend money I shouldn't have. Totally worth it. Have you girls tried the new style? What do you think? For me Topper's jeans come up trumps amongst other highstreet brands, the range and fit is like no other and the price is pretty reasonable for a long lasting pair.

I'm off to attempt a work out in hope of a perfect summer body, a girl can dream right? Hope you are all well and THANK YOU so much to all my lovely new followers.

Oversized Tartan.

Hello there, I'm heading back home again today for a weekend of celebrations (with essays and sketch book work squeezed in at every opportunity), my beaut of a sister turned 18 yesterday and my boyfriend's mum is having a shindig for her birthday Saturday, plus I'm hoping to have some tea and cake with my Nan who turned 78 this week later on. January is definitely turning out to be a jam packed month, with uni deadlines making it even more hectic; but I can't complain because busy is how I like it, you feel much happier when you have plans all over the place right?
Anywho, here is my 5 euro bargain from Paris, the ultimate comfy shirt that pack's a punch with the bright tartan print, perfect for my train journey home this afternoon.

This is the first time my gorgeous winter coat has starred in a post too, a bargain in the Debenhams sale at £20 which isn't too shabby huh? The detachable fur collar is what sold it to me, as the masculine shape looks great without it too and is so easy to throw on last minute to keep warm, think this coat will share a few winters with me for sure.
Hope you are all well and January isn't too blue.

Pleated Play.

As promised a new outfit post for you guys, featuring some of my favourite new buys this week including a gorgeous pleated midi thrifty find and a oversized grey tee from Toppers. The basic collection in Topshop at the moment is amazeballs, there is so much choice of staple wardrobe pieces such as midi body con skirts to sweaters; all of which I adore as the styling options are endless. These plain t-shirts are definitely hitting the spot for me at the moment, need to add more to my wardrobe asap plus some glorious jewellery .On that note, can anybody send me in the right direction of some eye-catching statement necklaces, I've been searching for what seems like forever for THE perfect one and alas, I'm still yet to.

I'm also loving bright nail varnish again at the moment, think I'm lusting after Summer sun a little too much haha. I couldn't decide between the two colours so painted each hand different...odd I know, but it did add a pop to this grey outfit. Note the cute western ankle boots, Jack got these for me as a surprise for Christmas and was so proud of himself for picking something so out of the blue that I fell in love with straight away haha, boy did well don't you think?

Hope you're all dandy and fending off the horrid bugs going round at the moment, I'm trying my best with copious amounts of green tea. Take care.

Naughty Purchases.

The past few days I've indulged in some extremely guilty shopping, and I feel enough is enough, no more...I must be stopped. But my wardrobe felt like it needed an oomph, a bit of zest to pull me few these dreary days, and I'm confident these finds will do just that.
pearly necklace Forver 21
Trying to build up a good choice of statement necklaces to perk up t-shirts and winter knits, although I do like this one I have yet to find one to fall head over heels about if you know what I mean? Any ideas where I can find one with some wow-factor?
cable knit jumper charity shop
A perfect jumper that iwill be quite a staple for this season, I'm thinking pretty collars popping out from underneath and I'm onto a winner.
cat t-shirt Monki
Forever growing t-shirt collection just got bigger; it's so simple but still has a certain edge. May have to bring out my inner rock chick haha.
metallic shirt charity shop
The first of my silvery finds, my friend likened it to a dolphin, but I'm liking the slinky metallic material. Great for the upcoming party season.
faux fur stole H&M
The infamous fur scarf from H&M, such a huge hit with bloggers this season, and I can certainly see why, it has the ability to change the look of an outfit instantly...a scarf with magic powers, who would have thought haha.
cream coat charity shop
Okay, so as soon as I got home one of the buttons fell off, nothing a bit of sewing can't fix though. This coat is just so cute, as soon as I put it on I felt so ladylike and feminine; the shape, the collar and the sleeves...all so sweet. No doubt it will look gorgeous with the fur stole too.
silver pleated skirt Monki
Another silvery edition to the party wardrobe, although it will definitely be dressed down for daytime too, it's too pretty to be locked away for after hours.
Monki Carnaby Street/ Oxford Street or here
If you haven't already, check this Swedish brand out now! It's quite similar to H&M but with a little bit more glitz and edge, and the prices are amazing! This is definitely my new favourite shop!
So here's to my last haul of 2012...I hope. From now on I shall feed my habit with plenty of Christmas shopping, I'm so looking forward to getting in the festive spirit.
Hope you are all well, and have wonderful things planned for the weekend, I'm off for a drinky catch-up with an old friend.

Power Dressing.

So my only charity shop bargain to show since being at uni is this men's houndstooth blazer? You likey? I'm pretty much having to drag myself away from picking it up every morning to wear, convinced that it goes with every outfit (it probably doesn't, but it certainly adds a quirky spin). Also, wearing a men's jacket comes in mighty handy, there's sooo many pockets! This may be my favourite thing about my £4 wonder purchase; I was able to walk around London with all my essentials in my inside pockets, not having to worry as much about my bag (the boyfriend always nags me to 'keep an eye on the bag').

The masculine, oversized shape strangely makes me feel rather feminine, as if I'm a teeny woman in a gentlemen's jacket...am I making sense haha?
