Double Laze.

Wednesdays are officially my lazy day; I have the day off uni for 'self-directed' study and do not creep out from under my duvet until afternoon hours. Not much gets done, and I barely leave the house...part of me is ashamed but part of me says it's okay. It's okay because I'm a very poor student who needs to lock herself away from any spending temptations. It's okay because the day can be spent pretending to get through the mountain of uni work piling up. It's okay because it's cold and miserable outside. Does anybody else get my drift? One day a week is allowed right?
All these reasons were verified today when I did in fact leave the house *shock horror* to apply for some voluntary work in town. Yes I fell victim to temptations, no I didn't even come close to completing any work and did you see the weather today?!

Double denim anyone? It's a bit hit and miss, but I wasn't taking myself too seriously this afternoon and really wanted to wear my beloved men's shirt, plus it's a nod to the western trend that's hovering about. I've seen a lot of amazing Isabel Marant-esque boots and shirts on the high street, love this subtle cowgirl revival; have you girls been influenced yet?

I'm off to read fashion magazines for uni research...not too shabby tehe.

Pinch of Petals.

Last Summer this floral headband basically lived on my head, but this year it retired to one of my many storage boxes that I never think to open and left hoping for next Summer. Snooping through said boxes, I rediscovered the head candy and thought autumn could do with some blossoms, so alas it's time has come. Because who says flowers are only for Summer? Why can't we flaunt some flower power during the dull, grim days too...especially in a season when head accessories are all the rave.

Although I really do love the head candy trend, no matter how pretty they are it always seems like a lot of faffing about, and I always end up touching/ readjusting my hair because the band feels like it's slipping. Though this may just be me and my big head, it genuinely is bigger than an average head I'm sure haha, I'm afraid my headbands or alike will stay put in the forgotten boxes...until next time.
I'm off to rummage through the fridge for another petit filous...undoubtedly one on of THE best yogurts ever made. Scrum.

Cut Backs.

So I'm making spending cut backs, it's rather necessary at the moment, therefore my latest charity shop haul isn't too big. But quality trumps quantity anywho right? And I'm pretty chuffed with these recent finds.
faux fur coat Miss Selfridge via charity shop
Introducing my new winter coat *drum roll please*. I'll be the first to admit this was a very daring purchase, when I tried it on I was in two minds; 'ooo my gosh I love it.' and 'Do you think I look like a yeti?!'But my mother was on hand to persuade me to get this furry cover up, as it was only £10!! I just simply couldn't let this one go, as I knew I'd be kicking myself come winter. Plus the boyf actually said he liked it, despite not being able to wear it around him as he's allergic haha, so this baby will be coming to uni with me. Here's hoping for a very chilly winter.

This extremely popular vest shape is still going in Topper's, and yet to have owned one myself I thought I may as well for just £2. Especially in such a key colour for any a/w wardrobe.

And finally, this little leather skirt. I'm slightly crushing over leather at the moment, so picked this up without any thought. Another autumnal investment that I  can see being a bit of a staple. Itching to wear it out all ready, so tomorrow may be the time.

Do you like my buys? I seem to be focusing on the upcoming season now, with coats and scarves and darker tones exciting me; but I still feel a little sad that bright, flowery summer is coming to an end.

Studded Hippy.

Thought I'd squeeze a post in before the boy comes along and demands all my attention, not that I'm complaining; he's bringing ice cream and hugs so all is well hehe. Today was my sister's 16th birthday, so I trotted off up to my parents with goodies and home made cakes galore, but beforehand I lounged about at Jack's whilst he was at work. I was lacking in outfit inspiration so gave his wardrobe a raid and found a belt from when he was younger that to my delight fitted my waist perfectly. Stolen.

Pretty nifty huh? May have to raid the boyfriend's wardrobe more often. Speaking of which, I'm off to pack a smidgen more before he gets here; think packing will be the death of me, takes forever and I've too much stuff! Hope you're all having a lovely, less stressful evening.

Bootilust.

I know, I know. It's still summer and I should be lusting over the perfect pair of sandals or summer heels, but I'm afraid the autumnal boot collections are making an appearance and it's hard to contain my excitement. Ankle boots are, for me, the best shoe...comfortable, transeasonal and versatile. Luckily for me, AW12 looks like a big one for my old friends, with the western trend sticking around; cuban heels, studs and tassels galore.

unusual Missguided, £14.99 River Island, £85 Zara, £119

The 'unusuals' are ones that I wouldn't normally go for, however there's something about these. For one, the ankle welly boots are just the perfect for this weather, and scream cuteness in the red. Secondly, the River Island JC-esque boots just seem so unique, the aztec print is what sways me yet I just don't get to wear heels enough to make use of this babies. Lastly, the Zara ones. These are way out my footwear comfort zone, BUT these have stolen my style heart haha.
This list is going to come in handy for the next season, even if some of them are slightly out of my price range I shall use them as inspiration. Any of you guys excited about next season buys?
