Best Summer Shorts Ever!

So yesterday was spent in sunny London with some friends catching the rays in Hyde Park then going to see Russell Howard record Good News (tiny celebrity crush hello). It was such a glorious day and a great opportunity to wear this perfect height of Summer outfit.
The shorts are from Forever21, the more I wear them the more I fall in love with them. They are quite literally the best summer shorts I've ever owned; easy-to-wear, beautiful print and just soo happy! Does that make sense? Do you have pieces in your wardrobe that scream happy too...or am I just crazy?

Forever 21 do an amazing choice of shorts, and even if you can't find these you're bound to fall head over heels for the others they have in store. These beauties were around £14 and I bought them mid-April so you may still be able to snap them up.
I couldn't resist showing off a naughty purchase from New Look too. Despite these cut-out boots being ONLY £25 I really shouldn't have bought them with my lack of money at the moment, but I honestly couldn't help it. They are just so pretty and current. A post devoted just to the boots may have to happen, as I'm crazy about them.

Toppers Birthday

So last weekend I celebrated my momentous 21st, and it was was blooming brilliant. I spent it with everybody that I love and adore, whilst being completely spoilt rotten...I was indeed a very happy, very lucky lady. I thought I'd show you my day outfit as things got a little chaotic and I didn't have time to snap any other outfits, apologies!

This Topshop dress is gorgeous, and after trying on about 10 different outfits in the flagship store this was my top pick. Not only was it such a reasonable price of £32, but it's so damn comfy. I feel that I could throw this on during the Summer and be set to go, not much else is needed. Plus it's ticking the big monochrome trend, whilst having a slight resemblance to Prada flowers. It also will be seasonally versatile, looking just as cute with some thick tights and boots layered up in the winter. I predict this dress to be a big seller for Topshop this season, as I've already seen some bloggers snapping it up...and bloggers know best right!?

I will blog a rather large catch-up which will include snippets of my birthday later in the week, so keep chooooned.

Saint Laurent Girl

The amazing punk-themed MET ball this week got me thinking about Saint Laurent's shock AW13 Paris show again, I adored every second of the catwalk. Not only was it full of attitude and all things grunge, but really spoke out to us 'normal' girls who can't afford a whole designer outfit without having to rob a bank. Hedi Slimane controversially pushed the 90s bar, which we have been seeing on the streets for a few seasons now, onto the catwalks of the fashion capital. The creative director seemed to be promoting our generation of style rather than his collection, quite literally stomping a statement. LOVE IT. It's actually possible to imitate some of the very looks with thrift and highstreet buys, as you can see I've already been having a play with my own wardrobe.

I'm so, so chuffed with this shirt I found in Paris back in January for only 5 euros! Yes, Saint Laurent gets me all excited about wearing this in the Autumn but I'm looking forward to Summer with this red beauty too. It's quite thick so doubles up as a jacket, will look great with some cut-offs and it really does add some oomph to an all-black outfit like so. I think it's also going to be my festival staple for a few messy weekends too. Shall I stop getting excited about a shirt now? It's a bit strange right.

Polka Dots Never Fade

So the polka dot t-shirt is coming in very useful as it goes with practically any bottoms, the main culprits being the trusty Jonis from Topshop. However, with it being such a beautiful day on Friday I couldn't resist getting these hot pink, relaxed shorts out from River Island; finally starting to brave the world bare-legged again eek. The transition is always hard, never knowing when the perfect (and socially acceptable) time is to kick off the full blown Summer wardrobe, but with all this sunshine I took a risk.

I bought the shorts in a charity shop last Summer and thought they may be a bit of a one hit wonder bargain, but with the sports luxe trend still sizzling on, and comfort being a key this season I'm happy to whip them back out. My chuffness continues regarding my recent haul, with this Forever21 tee proving to be great addition to my staples. Not only does it coincide with the Pop Art trend buzzing around thanks to Lichtenstein and co., but in my opinion polka dots never fall from fashion; there's always a hint of the quirky print in each seasons collections. So here's hoping this is something I can also pull out time and time again.

Hope you're enjoying the long May weekend, I'm trying to take advantage of these blue skies as much as possible.

This Term's Newbies

So only two weeks into this term of university and there is a substantial dent in my bank balance, these little beauties helped me make it.
Clockwise from the top tanned handbag Mango floral shorts Forever21 floral top Topshop via charity shop digital print tshirt Forever21 polka dot tshirt Forever21 printed skirt New Look via charity shop
I'm so happy with these new additions to my wardrobe as it desperately needed freshening up, just in time for some sunshine. Amongst this mini haul there are definitely some favourites emerging.

At number one is the tanned leather bag from Mango; it was a bargain in their mid-season sale at only £22.99. When it comes to picking a bag I always tend to go for neutral shades (the yellow Céline luggage bag being a dreamy exception) as then it will carry me through season to season effortlessly, and this Mango find feels as if it will do just that. Sturdy, spacious and sophisticated it will be hard to pry this away from my arm for a while.

Close behind is the very simple polka dot find from Forever21. As we all know the t-shirt trend is as strong as ever with every high street store selling their own plain versions for what some could consider a wee bit too much. However, for only £7.25 I couldn't walk away from this cute, quirky tee that could possibly become a Summer staple. It just brings a little bit of happiness to plain old jeans or denim cut-offs, don't you think?

Yet to be worn but still tugging at my heart are the little shorts also from Forever21, they are just too pretty. The print is a little Erdem-esque, blurry floral colours screaming Spring/Summer whilst the monochrome waistband keeps structure so it's not too much. In my head I'm partying into the sunset with these babies on, and I can not wait ha.

Which our your favourite picks of my mini haul?
