When in Rome...

Hello hello, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are still enjoying the festivities. Christmas Eve my boyfriend and I returned home from a long awaited weekend in Rome, which was pretty magical this time of year. I especially thought it would be romantic flying back on 24th for some reason, until I started to panic two weeks before that we may be snowed in for Christmas haha...thankfully all was okay.

We managed to cover the whole of Rome and it's greatest landmarks in the four nights we were there, revisiting our favourites on the last day. Was so lovely to spend some quality time with the boy on our own little adventure, definitely one of my favourite things to do in the whole world. Plus the Italian gelato was AH-mazing, pretty sure I had it for breakfast everyday.

Term's Over.

My first term at university is over already, I've been so busy that time has just flown by. I absolutely adore my course, it's perfect talking about fashion all day every day and it seems like really promising path to take to get into the fashion industry, it's all very exciting. So I thought I'd show you guys exactly what I have been up to the past few months as a Fashion Promotion at UCA.
As part of the first project we had to do a styled shoot on a given luxury brand, my group had Celine, the French brand iconic for it's minimalistic approach and gorgeous leather goods. After studying this brand for nearly 8 weeks though all I now want is a Celine luggage bagjust need alot of dollar then.

Last week we were experimenting with camera filters and last minute styling, but my friends and I came up with a really good concept in the end so decided to make it into a mini-zine. We were pretty chuffed with ourselves when we saw the results. Fellow team members included my lovely Liverpudlian Heather and ridiculously brilliant Richard, excuse my modelling, apparently I pull off the 50s housewife look pretty well ha.
This course has made me fall in love with London even more. We're expected to take trips up to the capital frequently to get to know our way about town and keep up to date with all the exhibitions and forums on offer, which means the temptation to splurge has quadrupled this term. Oooops.
I've also began to take such a great interest in window displays, some of the stores in London have amazing examples. The left one here is Moschino's window for this Autumn, can you spot the cartoon they're imitating? And on the right is one of Harrod's Christmas windows which involved a collaboration of designers such as Oscar de la Renta and Vaentino with Disney princesses, the gowns are just beautiful. If you're in London this month definitely go check  them out in Knightsbridge.
This here was our first live project with none other than Dr Martens, where we were asked to style a pair of the iconic shoes. Have you noticed that they've had this huge revival in the past few years, and they seem more versatile than ever with new stores popping up around the country. The pair I'm wearing here aren't the classic DMs you're used to seeing, but these heeled beauties were so darn comfy, I so didn't want to give them back after the shoot booo. Check out the entire day's work here.

So that's my first term over, and I'm back in my home town all set for the Christmas festivities which include a posh drunken dinner with friends tomorrow and a weekend in Rome with the boyfriend. I can NOT wait. Although, it's not all play as I have a humungous pile of readings to get through for next term, oh well hehe.

Enjoy your festivities ladies!

Frosty.

Hello lovely people, feeling the cold yet? This morning I enjoyed my short walk to university, partly because I was actually early for once, and also for what Jack Frost left behind; frosty mornings have to be one of my favourites. It just seems as if the whole world had been sprinkled with glistening shimmer and oh my the feeling of frosty grass crunching beneath your feet...so good right?

My friends pointed out how festive this outfit is with the sequins and Santa red, this woolly hat cost me £1.75! I'm not usually keen on hats, think I look a tad strange in them but they are very much growing on me, especially for this bargainous price.

Is anybody finding me completely strange for liking frosty mornings? Am I alone in this haha?

Let the Festivities Begin.

Thought it was about time I spread some Christmas cheer on the blog, especially after I've spent the majority of the evening repeatedly singing 'Last Christmas' with my house mates haha. Can't.Get.It.Out.My.Head.
These are possibly one of the best things about Christmas, so so tasty. I always get excited when I spot these down the supermarket aisles each year.
Getting ready to decorate the house, someone thought it would be a great idea to stick baubles to the ceiling, I've now lost count of the amount of times they have fallen on my head.
Back at home my parents have got the Christmas mugs out, as well as the matching plates...too cute.
Carnaby Street decorations are pretty cool, not so sure about the marmite ones on Oxford Street though. It is British quirkiness at it's best though right?
Started to write my Christmas cards the other night, seems so old school nowadays with the internet taking over everything, but it's still the best way to get in the mood whilst 'All I Want for Christmas' is blasting from the stereo.
Enjoying plenty of cups of hot chocolate whilst snuggled up in my fur coat on the sofa, the only way to keep warm in this house.
Having a house shindig before we all go home for the holidays, crackers and wine a plenty.
Just absolutely had to watch Elf, and I'm forcing the boy to bring more festive films up this weekend, is it sad that I'm slightly excited about this?
The Christmas tree back home, which gets smaller the older I get *sob* (and not just because I'm getting taller haha)
Uni's attempt of Christmas spirit...it was rather heart-warming to hear the carolling though.
Our attempt of the Company DIY Christmas tree, it does look pretty nifty with all the lights turned off.
The best pick of Quality Street, this and the orange creme mmmm. Tins of sweets are also up there with the things that make Christmas right?

I still can't quite believe that it's this time of year again already, it's so crazy. Crazy good though.

Lazy Choices.

You may be thinking it's a little too cold for even maxi skirts now, but throw on a pair of leggings underneath and you can still feel snug as a bug. So glad I did, as Winter is certainly here with all these little snow flurries up and down the country occurring, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas right? I have been wearing an awful lot of black and white recently, with my gold accessories thrown in as always.

I'm also getting pretty lazy with my outfit choices in the mornings before uni, here I didn't have the time to untangle these necklaces so just threw them on how they were, luckily it worked and I didn't look too much of a mess haha. Last week I couldn't decide between two scarves so wore them both, yup I'm that cool haha.
Hope you're all fine and dandy, less than three weeks until the big day! Crazy stuff.
